A turnkey interior for the Rathore family's villa in Chhatarpur, New Delhi, executed in a classical language of marble, walnut, and crystal across every room of the home.
From a compass-star marble inlay at the entrance to a hand-carved marble pooja niche, the villa is a study in old-world craftsmanship — columned rooms, coffered ceilings, and layered lighting scaled for a large family home.
This villa in Chhatarpur was a full turnkey project for the Rathore family — Eagle Decor took it from bare structure to a finished, furnished home. Every room, from the drawing room to the pooja space and the family bathrooms, was designed and executed together, so the villa reads as one considered composition rather than a set of individually styled rooms.
The home speaks a deliberately classical language: white and veined marble underfoot, rich walnut panelling and joinery, crystal chandeliers, and gold and brass detailing throughout. Deep reds and warm neutrals in the upholstery and drapery keep the rooms grounded and warm, while fluted columns and coffered ceilings give the larger spaces a sense of grandeur without feeling cold.
The drawing room is the centrepiece — a marble fireplace, a gilt-framed sofa, and a layered crystal chandelier set beneath a circular coffered ceiling. Alongside it, a formal sitting room framed by fluted columns offers a more intimate space for guests, and a dedicated eight-seater dining room, complete with a baroque gold mirror and bespoke sideboard, is built for hosting at scale.
The entrance sets the tone immediately. A compass-star marble inlay is set into the polished floor, framed by white columns, a sculptural gold mirror, and a marble console — a formal, symmetrical arrival sequence that leads the eye through to the living spaces beyond.
The private quarters balance the home’s grandeur with comfort. The master bedroom pairs full-height walnut panelling with a soft upholstered headboard and layered drapery. A dedicated pooja room — with a hand-carved marble arched niche, fluted pillars, and a stained-glass door — gives the family a serene, crafted space for worship at the heart of the home.
The villa’s bathrooms are treated as design statements in their own right: a master bath in white Statuario marble over a black marble floor, a warm guest bath in brown granite and walnut, a jewel-box powder room wrapped in silver-framed mirror panelling with a backlit onyx basin, and a family bath in beige marble and stone. Each uses bespoke joinery and stonework from Eagle Decor’s own workshop.
