A dark, atmospheric dining room

This fine-dining restaurant was designed around mood. Rather than a bright, open room, the brief called for a low-lit, enveloping space that feels intimate at any table and holds its atmosphere from lunch through to late dinner. Deep-green walls, dark walnut and warm pools of light do the work, so guests feel tucked into the room rather than exposed within it.

A material palette of green, walnut and brass

The scheme is built on a tight, considered set of materials: deep forest-green walls and emerald velvet upholstery, rich walnut panelling and reeded joinery, antique-brass lighting and trims, and hand-laid terrazzo floors bordered in dark marble. Fluted glass and fluted wood recur throughout as screens and feature walls, catching the warm light and softly separating one area from the next.

Seating for every occasion

The room is planned as a series of distinct settings. The main hall, anchored by a large tiered fluted-glass chandelier, mixes velvet banquettes with freestanding tables; window-side booths look onto greenery; and tucked-away corner booths, wrapped in curved velvet beneath textured, backlit walls, offer more private tables. A separate private dining room seats a long party of twelve under its own pendant and reeded-wood wall.

Bar and arrival

The bar is a focal point in its own right — a curved, fluted-wood counter with a brass foot rail and a backlit display of bottles, framed by leather stools and soft dome lamps. At the entrance, a reeded-walnut host stand set against a backlit feature wall establishes the restaurant’s tone the moment guests step in.

Considered down to the washrooms

The detailing carries all the way through. Even the washroom corridor is treated as part of the experience — deep-green walls, walnut wainscoting, ribbed-brass sconces and a marble vanity with a backlit mirror, over the same terrazzo that runs through the restaurant.
